About Alderman Kneeshaw Park
Alderman Kneeshaw Park is a free public park serving the Greatfield area of east Hull, accessed from Valiant Drive or Amethyst Road and managed by Hull City Council. The park was given a round of improvements celebrated in 2023 and its play area now contains a wide range of equipment for children of all ages, including swings, a tandem swing, a tornado, an activity centre, a see saw, spring rides, a spinning ring and a spinning cup. In summer a seasonal water play area opens from the end of May to the beginning of September on weekends, bank holidays and school holidays, with toilets available at the park when the water play area is open. There is a lot of space for families to spread out: the park has a baseball pitch, bowling greens, a trim trail, a jogging route, an outdoor gym and a wildlife area, and it hosts a junior parkrun for children aged 4 to 14. Unusually, it also has a dedicated dog agility area, although only assistance dogs are allowed inside the children's play area. The mix of a modern playground, summer water play and plenty of open green space makes it a strong free option for families in east Hull.
