About London Fields Playground
London Fields is one of Hackney's best-known and busiest green spaces, sitting between Broadway Market and Mare Street in the London Borough of Hackney. The park covers around 12.65 hectares of open grass, tree-lined avenues and a wildflower meadow, and it holds a Green Flag award recognising it as one of the country's best-managed public spaces. For families, there are two children's play areas within the park, and Hackney Council has announced plans to refurbish the north play area to make it more inclusive and suitable for a wider range of ages. Beyond play, the park is home to the historic London Fields Lido, an outdoor swimming pool, alongside an outdoor gym, a cricket pitch, tennis courts, a pétanque area and a table tennis table. Refurbished toilets, including accessible facilities, are available, and the Lido café serves refreshments. The park is managed by Hackney Council. Dogs are not permitted in the play area or sports facilities, and visitors are asked to follow the council's rules for dogs in Hackney parks.
