About Inverleith Park

Inverleith Park is one of Edinburgh's largest neighbourhood parks, covering around 22 hectares (54 acres) in the Inverleith area of north Edinburgh, directly across Arboretum Place from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Managed by the City of Edinburgh Council, it is made up of wide lawns, sports pitches, tennis courts and a boating pond, with long views towards the Edinburgh skyline and Arthur's Seat. The park has a well-regarded modern playground designed inclusively for a range of ages and abilities, with play equipment suited to toddlers and juniors alongside a separate younger-toddler area; older children can use the outdoor gym equipment, the tennis courts and a fenced court for football, basketball and other ball games. The playground sits in a corner of the park, close to open grass ideal for picnics, kite-flying and games. Paths are well maintained and the park is wheelchair friendly, with an accessible entrance. Its position next to the Botanic Garden makes it a natural stop on a longer family outing, and it remains a popular, free green space for families across north Edinburgh.
