About Talacre Gardens Playground
Talacre Gardens is a free public open space in Kentish Town, tucked between Camden Market and Kentish Town High Street and managed by the London Borough of Camden. The park was created in the mid-1970s after nearby houses were demolished, redesigned in 2003 alongside the adjoining Talacre Community Sports Centre, and in 2008 gained legally protected Town Green status, safeguarding it from development. For families it offers two separate children's play areas and a large multi-use games area, set within a wide expanse of grass with pathways, benches and a planted seating area. There is also an all-weather pitch, and a designated area for dog exercising. The neighbouring Talacre Community Sports Centre, on Dalby Street, runs youth and adult sports clubs and classes, so the green is a hub for community activity and events throughout the year.
