About Cantelowes Gardens Playground
Cantelowes Gardens is a large, well-used park just off Camden Road in Camden Town, run by the London Borough of Camden and free to visit. It is especially popular with children and young people. The park has two multi-activity play areas, one aimed at 4-7 year-olds and one for 7-12 year-olds, together with a sand pit. Its best-known feature is the Cantelowes skatepark, significantly redeveloped in 2017, which is open from 10am to dusk and free to use; alongside it an asphalt pump track is designed primarily for bikes and BMX but is also used by scooters, skateboards and rollerbladers. Families and older children also have access to three football pitches, an outdoor gym, a basketball court and a changing pavilion with a public toilet. The combination of dedicated younger-children play areas with serious skate and wheeled-sports facilities makes Cantelowes a versatile destination for a wide age range. The park is freely accessible during daylight hours; the skatepark keeps its own 10am-to-dusk schedule.
