About Canford Park

Canford Park is a Victorian public park in Westbury-on-Trym, north Bristol, founded in 1874 and run by Bristol City Council. It combines formal and recreational features, including a sunken rose garden with a lily pond, a Grade II listed drinking fountain, eight tennis courts, two bookable football pitches and a bowling green with pavilion. The children's play area sits on the western side of the park and is fenced as a dog-free zone, with provision for young children as well as more adventurous equipment for older children around the 8-12 age range. A cafe kiosk with outdoor seating serves visitors, and there is a marked 600-metre walking route. There is no admission charge and the park is open at all times. Public toilets open seasonally, 8am to 8pm from April to September and 8am to 4pm from October to March, closed on Christmas Day. The park is flat with many paths and entrances wide enough for wheelchairs, though steps are needed to reach the pond and rose garden. There is no dedicated car park on site.
