About Blaise Castle Estate

Blaise Castle Estate is a large historic parkland near Henbury in north Bristol, owned and managed by Bristol City Council. The estate takes its name from Blaise Castle, a Grade II* listed folly built in 1766, and includes Blaise Castle House, an 18th-century mansion that now houses the Blaise Museum, along with dairy, orangery and gardens, all set among dramatic woodland and gorge walks. Families come for the big, well-regarded adventure playground, which is split into two fenced, dog-free areas. The younger children's area has a sand pit, swings, a climbing frame and a slide, while the older children's area offers a tree house climbing frame, trampoline, tube slides, a basket swing, speaking tubes, a roundabout, seesaw, high swings, climbing towers and a zip wire. There is no charge to enter the estate, which is always open, and there is an on-site cafe. Toilets with baby changing are open 9am to 5pm daily (closed 25 December). Two car parks serve the estate; parking charges apply from 9am to 6pm at £1 for up to an hour, £2 for up to two hours and £3 for up to five hours, with disabled bays at both.
