About Queen's Park
Queen's Park is a historic Victorian park set on gently sloping ground close to the centre of Brighton. Managed by Brighton & Hove City Council, it is always open, all year round, and free to visit. The park has a children's playground, and a cafe sits right beside it, open daily through the summer from 10.30am to 5.30pm and, in winter, weather permitting. Public toilets, including an accessible toilet near the play area, are in the building next to the cafe facing the play park, open 10am to 4pm. The park's ornamental lake, mature trees and open lawns make it a popular spot for families and local residents alike. Many pathways run through the park and most are accessible, with a large number of benches to rest on; the southern end is the most level area, while some of the smaller entrances are gated and may cause difficulties for wheelchair users. There is no on-site car park, so visitors rely on on-street parking, though designated accessible bays are available near the park. Its blend of play space, water feature and heritage landscaping makes Queen's Park a well-rounded day out.
