About Preston Park

Preston Park is the largest urban park in Brighton & Hove and a much-loved green space just north of the city centre. Managed by Brighton & Hove City Council, it is always open, all year round, and free to enter. Families come for the children's playground, which has been upgraded as part of the council's playground investment programme and includes a fully inclusive, wheelchair-accessible swing alongside a new outdoor fitness area. Beyond play, the park offers wide-open lawns to relax on, an ornamental rock garden, a cricket pitch and the historic velodrome. There are two cafes, both open daily, so refreshments are never far away. Public toilets are provided at the Rotunda and the Chalet, open 10am to 4pm, and a Changing Places toilet is also available. Most of the park is accessible on level pathways with plenty of benches along the way, though the rock garden, cricket pitch and velodrome have rougher terrain. Parking on-site is limited, with priority for disabled visitors, but on-street parking is available nearby.
