About Perry Park
Perry Park is a public park in Perry Barr managed by Birmingham City Council, best known as the home of the Alexander Stadium, which was a host venue for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The park is bounded by the Tame Valley Canal, the M6 motorway and the A34, and includes Perry Reservoir, a small canal feeder reservoir, as well as a lake with wildlife including swans and ducks. The children's play area had been removed to make way for Commonwealth Games works, but following a sustained community campaign the City Council reinstated it, and the new, much-improved play area reopened and has proved popular with families. Beyond the play area there are open green spaces and walking paths around the water. Perry Park is a distinct space from the similarly named Perry Hall Park, also in Perry Barr; the two are frequently confused despite being separate parks in the same area. The combination of the landmark stadium, wildlife lake and refreshed play facilities makes it a well-used local green space.
