About Central Park

Central Park on Liscard Road is the largest area of parkland in Wallasey and a Green Flag Award winner, managed by Wirral Council. It is open 24 hours a day and free to enter. Families come for the children's play area and the pump track, which is open to bikes, skateboards, scooters and roller blades (motorised vehicles are not allowed), giving older children and teenagers somewhere to burn off energy. The park is also a sporting and social hub, with football and cricket pitches, bowling greens, basketball and a multi-use games area, fitness and running trails, woodland walks, and fishing on the lake with a permit. At the heart of the park a walled garden houses 'Everyone's cafe', open 10am to 5pm daily from Easter to September and on shorter hours through the winter. Public toilets are provided on site, and full accessibility information is available via AccessAble. The grounds also hold a Boer War memorial among the mature planting. With its scale, free play, pump track and cafe, Central Park is a reliable choice for a family afternoon in Wallasey.
