About Farnley Hall Park
Farnley Hall Park is a 16-hectare (40-acre) public park in Farnley, about four miles from Leeds city centre and operated by Leeds City Council. It sits within the grounds of Farnley Hall — a country house originally built in 1586 for Sir Thomas Danby, the first Mayor of Leeds, and owned by Leeds City Council since 1945. The park is also home to the main base of Leeds City Parks. For families, the park's playground is a newer addition, with equipment including swings, slides, see-saws and a play frame. The wider park combines areas of open grassland, natural woodland and formal gardens, along with football and rugby pitches. Footpaths are wide enough for wheelchairs and pushchairs, making the park accessible for all. With its mix of history, greenery and play facilities, Farnley Hall Park is a pleasant spot for a family visit on the western side of Leeds.
