About Armley Park

Armley Park lies about two miles west of Leeds city centre, covering roughly 14 hectares and managed by Leeds City Council. It is a traditional community park with a good spread of sports and play facilities. The children's playground was rebuilt and relocated to a spot above the football pitches in the north of the park, with new equipment including climbing blocks, a zip wire, play boulders, a roundabout, a slide, swings, a rodeo board, a four-way springer and a platform with views towards Kirkstall and Headingley. Alongside the playground there is a skate park for older children, summer and winter bowling greens with a pavilion, football pitches, tennis courts, a cricket wicket and plenty of open grass. The range of equipment in the modern play area, combined with the wider sports provision, makes Armley Park a genuinely varied free day out for west Leeds families, with something for toddlers through to teenagers.
