About Grove Park

Grove Park is a 12-acre public park in Harborne, Birmingham, created in 1963 and managed by Birmingham City Council. The grounds were once part of The Grove, an 18th-century Georgian estate; the house was rebuilt in 1877-78 by architect John Henry Chamberlain for businessman William Kenrick, and after its demolition in 1963 the grounds became a public park. For families, the park has a popular, well-stocked children's play area with climbing frames offering great views over the surrounding area. The wider park features a small lake, large playing fields, and mature trees including redwoods, oaks and weeping willows, alongside colourful planting. One of its centrepieces is an ancient cedar tree thought to have been planted in the late 1700s. Entrances are off Harborne Park Road, Mill Farm Road and Grove Lane, with car parking from Grove Lane next to the Coach House and from Harborne Park Road next to the play area. There are no toilets on site.
