About Gorse Hill City Farm
Gorse Hill City Farm sits on Anstey Lane just outside Leicester city centre and is run by the registered charity Friends of Leicester City Farm Limited. It is home to more than 100 animals, including pigs, goats, sheep, ponies, rabbits, ducks, chickens and several rare breeds, giving children the chance to get close to farm life within the city. A petting corner, an outdoor play park and seasonal animal activities make it an easy, hands-on day out, and the site is well suited to Early Years and toddler visitors. The farm is open every day of the year except Christmas Day, with hours of 10:00 to 16:30 from April to October and 10:00 to 16:00 from November to March. Admission is charged with tickets available online, and because it is a charity it also runs animal adoption schemes and welcomes donations. The Farmers Hut Cafe serves a family-friendly menu daily from 10:00 to 15:00. No pets are allowed on site, though assistance dogs are welcome. The farm also offers educational visits and birthday parties, both of which should be booked in advance.
