About Wimpole Home Farm

Wimpole Home Farm is the rare-breed farm at the heart of the National Trust's Wimpole Estate in Cambridgeshire, described by the Trust as the only in-hand farm of its kind in its care. It is home to traditional and rare-breed animals including Shire horses, pigs, sheep, cattle and goats, giving families a close-up look at farm life across the seasons, with young animals arriving at lambing and other times of year. Pig feeding takes place twice a day, with times posted on arrival, and there are regular opportunities to see the animals being cared for. Next to the cafe and picnic area is a play space with a combine-harvester climbing frame, wooden animals and sculptures to clamber on, a spinning bucket and balancing features, so children can burn off energy after meeting the animals. The Farm Cafe serves food and drink, and there are accessible toilets, a car park and mobility scooters available. Entry to Home Farm is included in the estate ticket and free for National Trust members. Opening times vary through the year, so check the Trust's calendar before visiting.
