About Swansea Community Farm

Swansea Community Farm, set across 3.5 acres in Cadle on the Fforestfach side of the city, is a free, award-winning community charity and the only city farm in Wales. Shaped by local volunteers over more than 20 years, it has grown from an idea into a thriving green space that makes a great family outing. Visitors can meet a range of farm animals, including rare and Welsh breeds along with donkeys, goats and ducks, and explore the allotments, wildlife areas and beehives that show how food and nature work together. For children there is a play area and a mud kitchen to get stuck into, so there is plenty to keep little ones busy alongside the animals. The on-site cafe serves affordable meals to visitors and volunteers, giving a warm, welcoming heart to the farm. Entry is free, with the farm run as a community-led charity supported by donations and volunteering. It is open to visitors on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm, so it is worth planning your visit around those days. A friendly, down-to-earth day out, Swansea Community Farm combines animals, growing and community wellbeing just a few miles from the city centre.
