About Vauxhall City Farm
Vauxhall City Farm is a free, charity-run city farm just across the river from Southwark, offering a surprising slice of countryside close to central London. It's home to alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, various birds and a resident farm cat, and is well set up for families who want hands-on time with the animals. Bookable Animal Meet & Greet experiences last around 20 minutes, while Cuddle Corner sessions (around £5) let children get up close with the smaller residents. There's also an ecology area, a herb and dye garden, a picnic area and a riding school offering lessons for children and young people. The on-site cafe, The Old Dairy, serves hot and cold drinks, pastries, snacks and food. The farm is step-free with paved, pushchair-friendly paths, five toilets including two accessible ones with baby-change, and disabled parking bays at the entrance. Open Tuesday to Sunday with free entry (a £4 donation is suggested if you can), it's a relaxed, accessible and child-friendly day out in the heart of the city.
