King George's Park Playground lies within King George's Park, a long linear park running between Wandsworth town centre and Southfields in the London Borough of Wandsworth. The park was laid out in the early 1920s and officially opened by King George V in 1923. Its children's provision includes a toddlers playground designed for younger children, an adventure playground and a one o'clock club. The playground has been improved through a council project costing £167,243, funded via the S106 developer contributions scheme, adding equipment such as swings, slides, roundabouts and a trim trail. The play space is free and open access with no need to book, open during daylight hours. Beyond the playground, King George's Park offers formal and ornamental gardens, an ecology site, a lake and a riverside walk alongside the River Wandle, which forms the park's eastern boundary, as well as sports pitches, tennis courts and a bowling green. Families can combine play with a walk along the Wandle Trail, which passes through the park.
