About Avery Hill Park Playground
Avery Hill Park is a large Green Flag Award-winning park of around 90 hectares in Eltham, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and its children's playground sits next to a cafe with public toilets, making it convenient for family visits. Beyond the playground there is plenty of space for informal ball games, a hard-standing floodlit multi-use games area, an outdoor gym installed as part of the borough's Olympic legacy, and outdoor table tennis tables. Cricket and football pitches with changing facilities are available to hire for formal matches. The park is also home to historic winter garden glasshouses, open daily in two sessions (10am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm), closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Wheelchair access and accessible toilet facilities are available. The park is freely accessible and managed by the Royal Borough of Greenwich, with entrances including Bexley Road, and it lies within the Eltham Town and Avery Hill area, close to the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill campus.
