About Sutton Park
Sutton Park is a welcoming neighbourhood park in Sutton, St Helens, managed by St Helens Borough Council and awarded the Green Flag Award for 2025. Smaller than the neighbouring Sherdley Park, it is designed as a local space for exercise, play and relaxation, with excellent play facilities for children and young people at its heart. The children's play area is complemented by outdoor gym equipment for older visitors and carers, ball courts and a football pitch for informal games and kickabouts, so there is something for a range of ages in one easy-to-reach spot. Walking and relaxation spaces with benches thread through the park, and there are open grassed areas where you can walk the dog. Off-site car parking is available nearby for those arriving by car. As a free, Green Flag-standard green space close to home, Sutton Park is a reliable choice for an afternoon of play and fresh air, whether that is a session on the swings and slides, a game on the ball courts or simply a stroll and a sit down. Its compact size makes it especially manageable for families with younger children who want a safe, contained local park.
