About Muirhouse Linear Park
Muirhouse Linear Park is a City of Edinburgh Council park in the Muirhouse area in the north of the city. As the name suggests it is a linear strip of green space running through the neighbourhood, combining a children's play area for toddlers and juniors with active-recreation facilities including a ball court, a skateboard park and a BMX area. This mix makes it a useful free resource for a wide range of ages, from younger children using the play equipment to older children and teenagers skating and biking. The park is managed by the City of Edinburgh Council's north-west locality team and is freely accessible throughout the year. Serving the surrounding Muirhouse community, it provides both informal play and more energetic wheeled activities in one connected space, and sits within an area that has seen ongoing regeneration and investment in local facilities. The linear layout links different parts of the neighbourhood, so families can combine a visit to the play area with a walk along the park, while older children make use of the skate and BMX facilities nearby in the same connected green corridor.
