About Darnley Mill Park

Darnley Mill Park lies in the Darnley area of south-west Glasgow, off Nitshill Road, and forms part of the Glasgow side of the Dams to Darnley Country Park. The park occupies a glen through which the Brock Burn flows and is a roughly 39-hectare Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, offering attractive walks through a mosaic of woodland, grassland and burn-side habitats. For families, a path crosses a picnic area and a fenced children's playground within the park; the circular path around the play area is good for scooters and small bikes, and the playground includes swings and baby swings, a roundabout, a larger play centre with climbing frames and slides and a smaller play centre for younger children. There is a parking area at the top entrance where Nitshill Road meets Corselet Road. The park connects into the wider Dams to Darnley Country Park, a large regional green space straddling the Glasgow boundary that is managed in partnership and known for its reservoirs, wetlands and walking and cycling routes. With its enclosed playground, picnic area and riverside walks, Darnley Mill Park is a free, public green space well suited to a family day out in south Glasgow.
