About Perry Hall Park
Perry Hall Park, also known as Perry Hall Playing Fields, is a large green space in Perry Barr managed by Birmingham City Council. The land was formerly the parkland of Perry Hall, home of the Gough family, which was demolished in 1927; only the hall's moat now survives. In 1928 most of Perry Barr became part of Birmingham, and the following year the City Council bought the hall's parkland and opened it as Perry Hall Playing Fields. The park sits beside the River Tame, which runs along its edge, and the open playing fields are used for football and other sports. Families will find a children's playground among the facilities, and the flat, open layout and riverside paths make it a popular spot for walking and dog-walking. The site is protected by Fields in Trust through a Deed of Dedication, which safeguards its future as public recreation land. It is one of two similarly named parks in Perry Barr, the other being the separate Perry Park, and the two are often confused despite being distinct locations.
