About Croxteth Country Park Play Area
Croxteth Country Park wraps about 500 acres of parkland, woodland and nature reserve around Croxteth Hall, the former home of the Molyneux family — the Earls of Sefton — until 1972, when Liverpool City Council took on the estate. Entering the country park is free, including its woodland walks, free car park and children's play areas, which the council reopened in 2024 as what it describes as Liverpool's first fully accessible children's play area, with accessible, junior and infant sections. The historic Grade II*-listed hall and the working Victorian Home Farm, with its rare-breed animals, are separate paid attractions. There are cafés, a miniature railway, 5km walking, running and cycling routes and a weekly parkrun — making it an easy full-day family outing.
