About Otterspool Park Playground
Otterspool Park sits off Aigburth Road in south Liverpool and runs down to the River Mersey, connecting to the popular Otterspool Promenade. The promenade opened in 1950 on reclaimed land, and the park gained a children's playground in a 2006–07 renovation and a concrete skatepark completed in 2015. For families it is a free, easygoing spot: a children's play area, a skatepark, and long open walks beside the water past the 'Sitting Bull' sculpture created for the 1984 International Garden Festival. There are free car parks and a café at the Otterspool Adventure Centre next door — although the Adventure Centre itself is independently run with its own paid attractions.
