About Bransbury Park

Bransbury Park is a large park in the Eastney area of Portsmouth, purchased by the City Council in 1911 and mainly laid out as sports pitches. Managed by Portsmouth City Council, it sits close to the Langstone Harbour shoreline and the eastern seafront, making it an easy addition to a day by the coast. The park combines open sports ground with several family attractions: there is a children's play area, a skate park for older children and teenagers, a flower garden and a floodlit sports area used for netball, tennis and 5-a-side football. One of its most distinctive features is the miniature railway in the centre of the park, a long-standing draw for younger visitors on running days. Public toilets are provided on site, which the council lists as open daily from 8am to around 6.45pm. With its mix of generous open space, organised sport, a play area and the novelty of the miniature railway, Bransbury Park is a well-rounded choice for families in the east of the city, and it is close to Eastney Community Centre. Admission to the park and its play area is free.
