About Milton Park

Milton Park is a major established park in the Milton area of Portsmouth, purchased by the City Council in 1912 and formerly part of Milton Farm, whose original thatched barn still stands within the grounds. Managed by Portsmouth City Council, it is laid out with many mature trees and shrub borders that give it a settled, traditional feel. For families the highlight is a large children's play area, giving younger visitors plenty of space to play. Older children and teenagers are well catered for too, with a skate park on site. The park also packs in a strong range of sports facilities, including floodlit tennis, netball, basketball and football courts and bowling greens, so it stays busy with clubs and casual players through the week and into floodlit evenings. The mix of generous play provision, sport and mature green space makes Milton Park one of the more complete family parks in the east of the city, and it has been recognised with a Green Flag Award for the quality of its grounds and management. Admission to the park and its play area is free.
