About Sloughbottom Park

Sloughbottom Park is a large and busy public park in the Mile Cross area of Norwich, run by Norwich City Council and free to use. Opened in 1929, it is set out as an active, sport-focused green space alongside its children's playground. Families come for the play area, which sits near a lively mix of outdoor facilities including a well-regarded skate park and BMX course that are free and open to skateboarders and riders of all ages and abilities. There are also several football pitches and a multi-use games area suitable for football or basketball, plus wide areas of open grass. Norwich City Council secured major funding to deliver health and wellbeing improvements to Sloughbottom Park and the neighbouring Dolphin Path, with the play area due to be upgraded with inclusive playground equipment so that all children can enjoy it. The park is open to visitors around the clock. With its strong offer for older children and teenagers as well as a dedicated playground, Sloughbottom Park is a free and energetic day out for families in north-west Norwich.
