About Waterloo Park

Waterloo Park is a historic municipal park in the north of Norwich, run by Norwich City Council and free to enter. Laid out between the wars and recently refurbished, it combines formal planting and a landmark pavilion with modern family facilities. In May 2024 a brand-new, fully inclusive play area opened, designed so that children of all ages and abilities can play together, including wheelchair users and those with sensory needs. Its equipment includes swings, slides, a seesaw, a group rope swing, an inclusive carousel, a multi-sensory dome, a trampoline, spinner bowls and a rope bridge, set on sand and wet pour safety surfacing with clear paths throughout. The park's famous summer splash pad is a central draw for families on warm days. There are also hardcourt tennis courts and wide lawns for games and picnics. On-site facilities include a cafe, public toilets and parking, including disabled parking. Waterloo Park is one of six Norwich parks to hold a Green Flag Award, the national mark of excellence for well-managed green spaces, making it a reliable free day out close to the city centre.
