About Clatto Country Park

Clatto Country Park is built around a former reservoir in the north of Dundee, a mix of open water, woodland and paths that forms part of the wider Camperdown and Templeton Woods green network. It is free to enter and popular with walkers, families and watersports users, with the reservoir used for canoeing and sailing coordinated through the Ancrum Outdoor Education Centre. The adventure play area is aimed squarely at active children, with five-way swings and junior flat-seat swings, an embankment slide and free-standing slides, a seesaw, a climbing frame and climbing unit, spring rockers, a rolling barrel and an aerial runway, set out on bark surfacing within a gated enclosure. Alongside it there is a small outdoor gym with a cross trainer and free runner, plus a picnic and barbecue area with benches for family days out. Public toilets are at the Ranger Station and open seasonally, and there is a car park with disabled parking. Dogs are allowed but must be kept under close control or on a short lead, and owners should be aware that blue-green algae in the reservoir can be toxic to dogs. The park is open year-round.
