About Westburn Park
Westburn Park is one of Aberdeen's largest city parks, covering around 10 hectares in the Rosemount/west end area and managed by Aberdeen City Council. Opened in 1901 and sitting directly opposite Victoria Park, it is a busy recreation hub for families and sports. Its children's play area includes metal climbing frames, but the standout family feature is a dedicated children's cycle track laid out as miniature roads complete with road signs, designed to teach youngsters road awareness as they ride. The park also has a skatepark, refurbished in 2018, for older children and teenagers. Beyond play, Westburn is known for its excellent grass bowls green, which has hosted national and international championships, and the adjacent Aberdeen Tennis Centre with indoor and outdoor courts. Large grass pitches, two ponds fed by the Gilcomston Burn and open parkland round out the space, with the Victorian Westburn House standing at its centre. Easily paired with a visit to Victoria Park across the road, Westburn is free to enter and offers plenty to keep active families occupied.
