About Veracity Ground
Veracity Ground, also known as Veracity Recreation Ground, is an informal outdoor recreation site in the Woolston area of Southampton, managed by Southampton City Council. Reached from Spring Road, Merryoak Road or Sholing Road, it is a large open green space that offers plenty of room for play and informal sport. For children there is a play area, and the ground also has a multi-use games area (MUGA) and a skatepark for older children and teenagers. Families and groups can use the informal football pitches and the trim trail, while much of the site is laid to open grass for free play and kickabouts. Car parking is available on site, which makes it convenient for visitors travelling by car. Most of the park is reachable via macadam surfaced paths that provide wheelchair access, although the grass areas can become seasonally wet. There is currently no active friends group or formal management plan for the site. As a free, public recreation ground it is an everyday green space for the surrounding Woolston and Sholing communities.
