About Cliffe Castle Park

Cliffe Castle Park wraps around Cliffe Castle Museum on Spring Gardens Lane in Keighley, a Victorian mansion built in the 1880s for textile manufacturer Henry Isaac Butterfield. The surrounding park is a restored Victorian landscape with water features and Italian marble fountains, woodland, restored glasshouses of exotic plants and cacti, an aviary and small animal house, a bandstand and picnic areas. The children's play area was redeveloped in 2013 and includes a crawl tunnel, climbing wall, basket swing, a wooden train and ship and a sandpit, designed to serve children across a wide age range. The park holds a Green Flag Award and was named Best Park in Yorkshire by Yorkshire in Bloom in 2022, following a major Heritage Lottery-funded restoration. On-site facilities include the Pavilion Cafe, public toilets and car parking, and a weekly parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am. The park is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and entry to both the park and museum is free. It is managed by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and supported by the Cliffe Castle Support Group.
