About Horton Park
Horton Park is a much-loved public park in the Horton area of Bradford, laid out around a tranquil duck pond and an ornamental stone fountain dating from 1886. It is especially strong for families, with two distinct play spaces. One is a sensory-rich natural play area featuring steppingstones, a sandpit, animal sculptures and splash pools, alongside adventure elements such as a slide and balance beams. The other is a traditional fenced play area with swings and a slide. For younger children there is a toddler trail with little footprints, hopping stones, a Curly Caterpillar slide and a sandpit, plus a dedicated play area for ages 0 to 3. Surrounding the playgrounds the park offers three bowling greens with a timber clubhouse, multi-sports pitches for football and basketball, outdoor gym equipment and winding pedestrian promenades. There is on-site car parking, and a free community parkrun is held every Saturday at 9am. The park is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and is free to visit. It sits on Horton Park Avenue, BD7 3EG, close to Bradford city centre.
