About Battersea Park Playground

Battersea Park Playground sits within Battersea Park, one of the best-known green spaces in the London Borough of Wandsworth, on the south bank of the River Thames. The play provision is split between a toddlers and junior playground for younger children and a separate adventure playground designed for older, more active children with climbing frames, walkways and balancing equipment. The toddlers and junior playground reopened in March 2022 following a £254,000 upgrade of its play equipment. Both playgrounds are free to use and open access, with no need to book, and are open during normal park hours. Battersea Park itself is a large Victorian park offering wide lawns, tree-lined avenues, a boating lake and riverside paths, so families can combine a visit to the playground with a wider day out. The playgrounds are managed as part of the council's parks provision. As with other Wandsworth playgrounds, younger children should be supervised by a responsible adult.
