About Lydiard Park

Lydiard Park is a historic 260-acre country park at Lydiard Tregoze, about three miles west of central Swindon near junction 16 of the M4, owned and managed by Swindon Borough Council and open to the public all year round. Entry to the parkland is free; there is a small admission charge only for the historic Lydiard House, and parking is pay and display. For families the highlight is a large, modern children's playground with bright slides and climbing and swinging equipment, plus a separate area designed for toddlers, set within easy reach of the main car park and cafe. Around the play areas the park offers acres of open grass, mature trees, a lake and walking routes, along with the restored Walled Garden and the Palladian Lydiard House. The on-site Forest cafe provides refreshments, and there are male, female and disabled toilets as well as an accessible Changing Places facility with a hoist, shower and height-adjustable fittings. Dogs are welcome across much of the park but are kept out of the children's play areas, playing fields, cafe, house and walled garden. With its mix of heritage, nature and dedicated play, it is one of Swindon's most popular family days out.
