About Victoria Park

Victoria Park is a small Victorian public park opened in 1887 on the Swansea Bay seafront in the Brynmill area, a short distance west of the city centre and next to the Brangwyn Hall. Managed by Swansea Council, it is known for its striking flower beds and herbaceous borders and is listed Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Wales. Its best-known feature is the Patti Pavilion, named after the opera singer Dame Adelina Patti who donated the building to the city in 1918; it was re-erected in the park in 1920 and today hosts events, performances and a cafe. Families come for the children's play area with swings, while the park also has bowling greens, tennis courts and a historic weather station with a Stevenson screen in its south-east corner. Its flat, level seafront setting makes it easy for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Entry is free. There is no dedicated car park, but on-street and seafront parking is available nearby along Mumbles Road and Oystermouth Road.
