About Parr Fold Park Playground
Parr Fold Park is a classic Victorian park in the centre of Walkden, with landscaped gardens, mature trees and open lawns, managed by Salford City Council. It is one of only two parks in Salford (along with Victoria Park) to have a bandstand, first built in 1935, and a cenotaph in the park hosts an annual Remembrance service. Families get a children's play area aimed at four- to eight-year-olds, a skate park and an outdoor gym, plus tennis courts, a bowling green, pitch and putt, a memorial garden and a community orchard. The Parr Fold Pavilion café serves hot and cold drinks, toasties, ice creams and cakes with indoor and outdoor seating and toilets, and dogs are welcome there.
