About Buckland Park

Buckland Park is a neighbourhood park in the Buckland area of central Portsmouth, managed by Portsmouth City Council and serving one of the city's more densely built inner districts. Though compact compared with Portsmouth's larger parks, it is a well-used local green space that gives families somewhere close to home to play. It has children's play equipment for everyday play, together with a multi-court for ball games such as football and basketball. Its standout feature is the supervised community play centre, home to Buckland adventure playground, one of the council's network of six free supervised adventure playgrounds run by its play and youth services, giving older children a staffed, exciting place to play after school and during holidays. The combination of open play equipment, a hard court and a supervised adventure playground makes Buckland Park a valuable free resource for children of a range of ages in this part of the city. As an ordinary council neighbourhood park it is free to use, and it fits naturally into a day out exploring the parks of north and central Portsmouth.
