About Central Park
Central Park is Peterborough City Council's flagship city-centre green space, sitting just north of the town centre on Park Crescent where it adjoins Park Road and Broadway. The council reports that the park has won the Green Flag Award for more than 20 consecutive years, a national mark of a well-managed public park. For families the main draw is the children's play area, which sits alongside a seasonal outdoor paddling pool and a sandpit, while a sensory garden and sunken garden offer quieter corners. The park also provides a basketball court, table tennis tables, an outdoor chess table and an outdoor gym for older children and adults. Sporting and leisure facilities include tennis courts, a bowling green and a croquet lawn, and there is an aviary to visit. Refreshments are available at The Willow Cafe, and public toilets are open daily with seasonal hours. A defibrillator is on site. Entry to the park is free and it is open throughout the day.
