About Rose Hill Recreation Ground
Rose Hill Recreation Ground is an Oxford City Council park of around four hectares next to Rose Hill Community Centre, with its entrance on Ashurst Way in the Rose Hill neighbourhood in the south of the city. It is a well-used open space for families, dog walkers, children and local clubs and groups. The children's play area includes a zip line and equipment aimed at younger children, set over safety surfacing with chippings spread underneath to keep it mud-free, along with a sand pit, and many new trees have been planted around the ground. For older visitors and sports there are two football pitches, an outdoor gym, a basketball court and a table tennis table, so there is something for a range of ages. The adjacent community centre on Carole's Way offers additional activities and facilities. A car park with around thirty spaces serves the recreation ground, and bookings for pitches are handled by the council's sports team. Sitting a little over two miles from the city centre, Rose Hill Recreation Ground is free to enter and open to the public year round.
