About Acorn Farm
Acorn Farm is an award-winning, family-friendly city farm at Kirkby in Knowsley, on the edge of Liverpool. Set on around four hectares, it is home to a wide range of animals including sheep, cows, goats, pigs, horses, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and even meerkats, and at weekends and during school holidays it runs small-animal petting sessions and horse rides. Between the animals there are two outdoor play areas and a woodland walk to explore, plus a plant-sales centre and a farm shop selling home-reared free-range meat, eggs and goats' milk ice cream. The on-site cafe is open seven days a week, serving daily specials, homemade meals, snacks and drinks, with picnic areas to relax in. The farm is open every day from 10am to 4pm and no booking is needed for general entry, though groups of fifteen or more must pre-book a guided tour.
