About Valley Gardens
Valley Gardens is a 17-acre Grade II listed public park in Low Harrogate, laid out in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and managed by North Yorkshire Council since April 2023. Set beside the Pinewoods woodland, it is one of Harrogate's best-loved green spaces and is free to enter all year round. Families come for the children's playground, the children's boating pool and a seasonal free-to-use paddling pool, while the surrounding gardens hold the largest cluster of mineral springs in England. Beyond the play area there is plenty to fill a day out: four tennis courts, an 18-hole crazy golf course, nine-hole disc golf, table tennis, a skate park and an orienteering course. Heritage features include the historic Magnesia Well Pump Room, now a cafe, and the Grade II listed Sun Pavilion and Colonnade. Accessible footpaths suit most manual and electric wheelchair users, and on-site toilets include accessible facilities. The main entrance sits at the junction of Cornwall Road, Valley Drive and Royal Parade.
