About Finsbury Park Playground
Finsbury Park is one of north London's great Victorian parks, laid out in the 1860s and lying on the southern edge of the London Borough of Haringey, which owns and operates it. The park's main children's play area was significantly expanded and reopened for the park's 150th anniversary, with the council consulting local school children on what they wanted to see. Alongside the play equipment, families can enjoy the splash play area, where water jets spray up from the ground, a favourite for cooling off in warm weather. The wider park offers a boating lake, cafés, sports facilities and wide open green space, making it a full day out. Entry to the park and its playground is free, and the grounds are open and freely accessible year round. As with all Haringey parks, facilities are maintained by the council. Please check the council website before travelling, as individual play areas may occasionally close for maintenance or improvement works.
