About Ruchill Park
Ruchill Park is a 21-hectare public park in Ruchill, about two miles north-west of Glasgow city centre, created in 1892 when Glasgow Corporation acquired the site. It is best known for the small hillock topped with a flagpole, one of the finest viewpoints in the city, looking out over Glasgow and the surrounding hills. For families the park has play areas, set among jogging trails, flowerbeds and conservation areas. A free-to-use outdoor gym has been installed with a chin-up bar, a vertical ladder, an arched overhead ladder, a sit bench and a leg-raise station, and there is also a 12-hole disc golf course. Glasgow City Council has programmed a renewal of the Ruchill Park play area, with additional funding through the Scottish Government Play Renewal Fund. The park is operated by Glasgow City Council, is free to enter and open at all times.
