About Finlathen Park

Finlathen Park lies in the Dighty valley in east Dundee, part of the Dighty Wildlife Corridor and created, with the neighbouring Drumgeith Park, where derelict linen mills and ponds once stood. The Dighty Burn still meanders through the park, which is wooded in parts and linked by the Green Circular cycle route that loops around the city. For families it is one of the most inclusive play destinations in Dundee: the fenced play area combines cradle, junior and basket swings with dedicated disabled and buddy swings, an inclusive roundabout alongside a standard one, inclusive spring rockers, a buddy board, a climbing frame and climbing rock, an aerial runway and multiplay units with slides, all on wetpour and bark surfacing. A separate agility trail with traverse walks, stepping pods, rope walks and musical panels adds challenge for older children, and there is a mini skatepark and an outdoor gym (high pulley, pendulum and twist, rower, skier and squat press) nearby. Football pitches and woodland paths complete the picture. The park is free to enter and open year-round; dogs are welcome in the wider park but not inside the fenced play area.
