About Prior Deram Park
Prior Deram Park lies on Prior Deram Walk in Canley, south-west Coventry, and is managed by Coventry City Council. It was rebuilt as part of the council's Canley regeneration programme and is known for its Australian theme, with the garden planting chosen to give an essence of Australia. The park offers a wide range of play equipment for different ages. Younger children have toddler swings, mini and larger roundabouts, boat-style climbing apparatus and musical instruments, while older children can enjoy a large climbing frame, a nest swing, an embankment slide, a zip wire and a see-saw. There is a multi-use games area with football goals and a basketball court for ball games and older children. Beyond the play equipment, the park has additional seating and benches, wildflower planting and two community art projects created by pupils from Charter Primary School and the Westwood Academy. A 400m trail runs through the park on footpaths and grass. The park is open from dawn to dusk and is free to enter, and it benefits from an active Friends group who help care for the space. Its variety of equipment and distinctive themed garden make it one of the more engaging neighbourhood parks in this part of Coventry.
