About Pittville Park
Pittville Park is the largest regional park in Cheltenham, divided in two by Evesham Road and set around the elegant Pittville Pump Room. The eastern side is home to the main children's play area, a popular sand and water play area and the aviaries, while the western side holds smaller play areas alongside tennis courts, a pitch and putt course, a skate park and BMX ramps. Families can hire boats on the lake, feed the birds in the aviaries, or explore the woodland and footpaths that thread through the park. Toilets sit close to the main play area and are usually open during the daytime, and there are three refreshment options: The Kiosk in the playground, Central Cross Cafe and The Boathouse. Car parking is available, and accessible paths run throughout. Opened in the 1820s as part of Joseph Pitt's grand Regency estate, Pittville remains one of the town's most loved green spaces, combining formal heritage landscape with a wide range of modern play and sports facilities. The park and all of its play areas are free to enter.
