About Peel Park
Peel Park, in the Bolton area just northeast of Bradford city centre, was Bradford's first public park and sits on the national register of historic parks and gardens. It has two dedicated play zones for families. The eastern play area features equipment designed to blend with the landscape, with climbing features and slides built around a landscaped mound. The southern entrance play area was redeveloped in 2023 to provide an accessible and inclusive space, with a group swing, climbing dome, double zip wire and roundabouts. Around the playgrounds the park offers a wide range of facilities, including football pitches, a tennis court, bowling green, skate park, BMX track, multi-use games area, table tennis, outdoor fitness equipment, a pond, picnic area and walking routes. The volunteer-led Peelers Café, run with the Friends of Peel Park, serves low-cost food and refreshments and offers free books, games and activities on set days. Pathways and carriageways give wheelchair access to most of the park, although there are some steep paths and steps. It is a free, public park open 24 hours a day, all year round.
